About Our Winery

Monastery Winery is located in the village Openica, just 10km from Ohrid. Just below the St. Kuzman and Damjan Monastery, surrounded by the fresh air of the beautiful forest and a small river flowing by. This is a place where everyone can enjoy peace, nature, and, of course, our tasty wines.

  The best wine at the most beautiful location at Monastery Winery. My recommendation Riesling and Muscatt-Blanc of the white wines and of course with macedonian ROSE or VRANEC you can never go wrong :) All that with many varieties of meat, cheese, breads, fruits, vegetables, all locally grown and made.

  I cannot praise these guys enough. They are doing a terrific job. Usually at a wine tasting you find a couple of good ones and the rest pretty average but I found all of the wines interesting and really tasty. The winery and the setting is beautiful and worthwhile too. Highly recommended!

Every single grape used to create our beautiful wine is handpicked, placed in a small basket and rushed straight to our winery. Ready to be reborn and transcended into wine.

Our vineyards are located in the Ohrid Region, a place known for its cool climate. Wines from cool climates are high in acidity, have a light to medium body and lower percentage of alcohol.
